Small, but a start nonetheless [Oct. 18th, 2010|01:00 am]

After a long hiatus, I was finally able to get back on the quilting wagon with the help of my friend Sophie.  She came over on Sunday and we spent a happy afternoon working on our respective projects and catching up with each other.  It was nice to have someone to talk to while ironing triangle squares open, which is not the most riveting job in quilt making, after all.  There's still a bunch to do before I can get back to the sewing part of the patchwork (where did I put that new spool of thread?) but next week will be a sedate week as far as traveling goes so I am hoping to have more to show next Monday.

I've found that without Design Wall Mondays, other things seem to eat my quilting time.  And I really enjoy quilting, so here's to hopes for more faithful posting going forward!  Check out Judy Laquidara's Design Wall Monday, and get inspired!

Happy afternoon

It really was a happy afternoon and evening. I love the set of fabrics in those triangle squares and look forward to watching your progress on the quilt.

Design Wall Monday

What fun you will have setting those into a pattern. Have you got a design picked out already?

Re: Design Wall Monday

Oh yes, it started as a block of the month project from a quilt shop in PA, but I wanted a bigger quilt than they showed, and that meant a different layout and plundering my stash for fabrics. It's all plotted out in EQ, now to translate that into reality! I will scan the pattern for next week's Design Wall Monday; should have done that first.
