|And now for something completely different..

The bird wreath is done at last, and the grapevine wreath has been transferred onto the reverse of the background for back-basting.
Last week we got an invite to a baby shower for a friend who is expecting twin girls. I knew we wouldn't be able to attend but asked J if we should get them something, and he suggested baby quilts. Fortuitously, last week on Design Wall Monday, crazy'boutquilts had posted some blocks from a nifty pattern called Piece and Goodwill that I wanted to try. That turned out to have a variant which would be perfect for a baby quilt, so that's what I will do. Most of the available quilting time this week went to rummaging through the stash and cutting out pieces, except for when we were out visiting friends. Some of them are knitters, so I felt no qualms about bringing along the grapevine applique, and got it traced onto the background and just started.
