A Less Terse Version of Yesterday's Post [Jan. 16th, 2009|01:33 pm]
catlinye_maker
Thank you everyone for your prayers and well wishes; it means a lot to me!

J is occasionally unnecessarily terse, perhaps. I had to go into the hospital for surgery yesterday. It went very well; the surgeon said that it could have been complicated but turned out to be easy.

The only problem I had was forgetting that I have a true phobia about not being able to breath (legacy of being a mouth breather for so long.) So when they un-intubated me and my throat was somewhat swollen I _freaked_ when I couldn't breathe. (Since I could talk, gasping out that I couldn't breathe, the medical pros were not nearly as panicked as I was.)

I'm recovering well, and once they get the results from the bloodwork they took today I may be let to go home this evening. They've got me up and walking, albeit slowly.

After being awakened at 12, 12:15 (workers cleaning up the bed next door) 1, 3, and 6 I gave up on sleep at 7; so my own bed sounds good for tonight.

Needless to say, Bryn Mawr Hospital has wifi.. :)

Terse leaves no room for misunderstanding.

They sent me home this evening, so the phone is on, once I figure out where I left it (pocket somewhere.) Today went really well, they had me up walking around. I have a novocaine drip that will last through Sunday, then I get to remove it. Ick.

All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well. :)

I have spent the entire day on painkillers, and so could not get up to speed. It's too late to call now, so I'll be checking in tomorrow.

One's own bed

Nothing is quite the same as sleeping in one's own bed. Welcome home and thanks for the less-terse update. Take care.

Hope you're recovering well. Sorry I'm late, but I tend to only read LJ on the weekends.
